About District
Balaghat district is a peaceful, beautiful, and resource-rich district located in the southeastern part of Madhya Pradesh. Situated in the lap of the Wainganga River, the district shares its borders with the states of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Geographically, the district is divided into three major regions—the forested area in the east, the hilly ranges in the central region, and the flat agricultural plains in the west. Approximately 50% of the district’s area is covered by dense forests, making Balaghat rich in biodiversity.
